Cycletrippin Day 10: Finale Sant Hilari Sacalm
by bernt & torsten
Rolled into Sant Hilari Sacalm, Spain I have reached my final destination. The ride today, while short, was quite hard. From Girona the ride was in total 42.9 km up to Sant Hilari Sacalm the last 28.5 km was a category 1 climb with an average of 2.5% grading.
With me on the ride, today was Mark and Todd, I met up with them at the Girona train station as they had come in on the TGV from Paris. We set off from Girona station doing good speed tills the climb started We stayed together to Osor, where we stopped for drinks but after that, it became too hard for Mark and Todd, they start walking the steepest parts of the climb, I continued on my own on the climb to Sant Hilari Sacalm.
On the climb I came across goats that were grazing at the roadside, finally, I reached the village of Sant Hilari Sacalm, where there was a hidden secret. The steepest grade was up to the resort where I was staying for the skillshare I was attending. That is the finale, I finished the ride, sort of I still will have a bike ride to Barcelona before my flight home.
